Chairman,House Committee on Foreign Affairs and Member representing Gombi/ Hong Federal Constituency of Adamawa State in the House of Representatives,Rt. Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub, has said that he is better positioned and focused to deliver more dividends of democracy as the House resumes plenary today following the July- September long recess.
The lawmaker, who made this known today at his National Assembly office in Abuja, said the long recess afforded him the opportunity to ,among other activities, meet with his Constituents to carry out empowerment excersizes in different areas and to make donation of farm inputs, like fertilizer, herbicides, pesticides, seedlings and others,to his Constituents. This,he said, was to better position them for greater yield in this farming season.
The Member, who also used the opportunity to inform us of the many activities in which he engaged himself during the recess, as part of his official duties, some of which include the trip to Ghana alongside the House Speaker,Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamala, to mediate in the disputes between officials of that country and some members of the Nigerian community doing business there, said the job of the legislator was all- encompassing . He used the opportunity to commend Speaker Gbajabiamala for wading into the issue of the intended industrial action by the organised labour earlier in the week, while noting that,
” Speaker Gbajabiamala will go down in our nation’s history as the legislative leader who conquered in all areas he stepped his feet upon.”
Rt. Hon.Buba used the occasion to also commend all the members of the National Assembly for what he termed a “successful interactive period with constituents” and for their successful return for the last lap of the legislative session in the year.
