2019 AGM, MINISTRY OF DEFENCE STAFF AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVE SOCIETY: Cooperators Applaud Prisident

The applaud came from the cooperators at the occasion of the 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM), report and account held at National Centre for Women Development Abuja on Saturday, 21St March 2020. The pioneer president of the cooperative, mahammad Musa Zailahi in an interaction with panafricreporters said, “the cooperative was incorporated in 2005 with Ninety six thousand Naira (96,000:00) capital base but adds that the narrative has changed for better with a financial report of over One billion Naira.
“the current financial report revealed over a billion Naira now”. Mahammad expresses confident on the president, Mr. Edache Okoh while he appreciate him for taking the cooperative this far. He however, enjoins cooperators to continuously support and compliment the efforts of the executive for a win win cooperative. Similarly, Dr. Philip Musa, one of the cooperators said Mr. Edache has taken the cooperative to the next level. “the progress made as revealed in the 8th AGM report is a testament of Edache’s commitment to hard work and discipline”. Dr. Philip further lauds the housing initiative of the cooperative. The important of housing can not be over emphasis; housing constitutes and pose severe challenge to civil servants especially at retirement and when they have exited service. The housing initiative will help to solving 60 per cent of cooperators challenges while in service and after retirement, he said.
  On the leadership of the cooperative, he said, the executive of the cooperative under the leadership of Mr. Edache has done marvelously well and won the confident and trust of cooperators. Chief Gushem Obed Bella, a cooperative consultant and a resource person in the 8th AGM while in a media chat with panafricreporters enjoined civil servants to take advantage of the cooperative for value addition through mentoring, skill acquisition and other windows made available by government.
The cooperative expert applauds leadership and cooperators of the cooperative for living to the ideas and expectations upon which the cooperative was incorporated. He also thanks and charges government on cooperative friendly policies. The president, Abuja Co-operative Federation, Emmanuel Atama while applauding government efforts so far sue for the establishment of Cooperative Commission, adding that cooperative are doing better than some microfinance banks and will even do more when given the pride of place in the economic ecosystem.
Mrs. Babangida Ann, Vice President of the Cooperative while expressing gratitude to the executive and cooperators for their commitment enjoined members to be steadfast. She described the cooperative as a ray of hope for the cooperators hence, charges them to increase their contribution knowing fully, that savings contributed is safe and in good hand.
Earlier, Mr. Edache Okoh, president of the cooperative, Ministry of Defence Staff Agricultural Co-operative Society (MODOCS) in exciting mood expresses gratitude to all invited guests and cooperators, he also expressed satisfaction for the turn out despite the deadly scourge(Covid-19) bedeviling the world presently. “I am overwhelmed not only with the turnout but most importantly that cooperators are satisfied with level of progress made so far and having projects spread across the length of the federation” He assured cooperators of a better days ahead as his team is committed to delivering on the promising objectives of the cooperative. On the achievement of the cooperative under his watch, he said, “Apart from the 200 per cent increment in our financial base against the previous year, the cooperative housing project is ongoing across the country and we do hope same will be completed and hand over to cooperators soon. On a final note, he said the cooperative is open to all, provided the cooperative requirements are met.
