National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has conducted a joint assessment with the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) on the flood incident in Kargo community of Garki Local Government Area (LGA) of Jigawa State.
In the joint assessment The Jigawa State Emergency Management Agency provided the affected populations with food and Non Food items as well as consumables.
This was disclosed in a post by NEMA on Tuesday, July 9.
The post reads: “Sequel to the information received on flood incidence in Kargo community of Garki LGA from Jigawa State Emergency Management Agency on the 7th July, 2024, officials of NEMA Kano Territorial office conducted a joint assessment with SEMA on 08/07/2024.
“The incidence occurred as a result of heavy rainfall, which affected One Hundred and Two Persons and displaced about twenty-six households.
“The Jigawa State Emergency Management Agency provided the affected populations with food and Non Food items as well as consumables, which cmprises maize, rice, spaghetti, nylon Mats, Mosquito Net and Blankets.”
