As seen in yesterday’s devotional, rejecting God results in God rejecting us. Any individual or tribe or nation that rejects God usually pays heavily for it. God will raise enemies from outside to attack. The attack reflects in massive killings of those who rejected God. The war results into famine, economic recession and political destabilisation. We reject God by refusing His Sovereignty over us, rejecting His word and turning away to worshipping other gods. The people of Israel rejected God by turning to worship idols. God rejected all the seeds of Israel for this act (2 Kings 19: 14 – 20). Today’s devotional subscribes to the truth that the present global crisis will not be too far away from many nations rejecting God and turning away to idols of different kinds.
As seen on televisions, social media online and print media, internal and external crisis are on phenomenal increase. Governments are becoming helpless and incapacitated globally. God has actually “busted upon us” violence, disunity, genocide and wanton destructions of private and public properties. In order to overpower one’s enemies, some nations have gone into seeking for financial helps, purchasing of weapons and war arsenals of various capacities. The expected results prove worthless still. Sure solution to what the world is facing is turning to God and seeking His interventions. He will hear us and aids us into delivering. God will then disgrace all hired mercenaries, foreigners and allied forces destroying the world. A country like Nigeria should take note of this. If Nigerians all turn back to God, He will turn against their foes, within and without. Truth is that, in any nation, no matter the turning away from God, there are people sticking to God.
As seen in the lead passage, there were people in Israel even when others rejected God. God referred to them thus: “Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is my helmet (strength); Judah is my scepter (lawgiver)” (Psalms 60: 7 NIV Emphasis are all mine). Back to Nigeria, we should know that God, though left us in the hands of alleged foreigners killing and maiming us, reserves His love and mercy for us. He knows the faithful ones who trust in Him; the devoted prayer warriors as His helmet and those who still give His laws correctly to people, that is His scepter in Nigeria. He is dependable while humans are worthless helpers. He says in Psalm 60: 8 that He will turn Moab to His washbasin and toss His sandal on Edom (that is smears them with dirty mud); He shout on Philistia in triumph (that is make Israelites victorious over them). We in Nigeria will soon see all these happening to our enemies. All we must do is to seek God’s help in prayers. Hope is coming into fruition in Nigeria. Hallelujah!!
PRAYERS:
1. JEHOVAH ROPHI, (our healer and mender) you said anyone who seeks you with the whole heart will find you (Jer. 29: 13 KJV). Kindly save our country from total destructions in Jesus name.
2. We pray you grant your faithful servants in Nigeria the favour to hear their prayers to save us from your wrath of our rejecting you in Jesus name.
POSITIVE DECLARATION:
I believe that God will not forsake us forever. God will surely deliver us from our circumstances.
