The National Executive of Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu Support group paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary of NICO, Otunba Abiodun Ajiboye, at his office in Abuja yesterday.
The purpose of the visit according to the team leader and the National Chairman, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu Support group National Chairman Otunba Abdulfalil Abayomi Odunowo is to congratulate NICO Executive Secretary on his recent appointment and to commend him for the excellent work he is doing.
The team, led by National Chairman, Otunba Abdulfalil Abayomi Odunowo, National Woman Leader, Hon Zara Bukar, and National Youth Leader, Hon Adedayo Adeyemi in their separate remarksĀ expressed their appreciation for the Executive Secretary’s efforts in promoting Nigerian culture.
The team further highlighted the need for more Nigerian locations to be recognized by UNESCO in recognition of their cultural significance.
“While ongratulating you on the success of events like the Osun Oshogbo and Sango festivals in Ile Ife, we suggeste that other important cultural sites, such as the Durban festival in Borno, the Queen Sheba epitaph in Oke Eri in Ijebu Ode, and the Iyemoja festival in Ibara Omida, should also be put on the global radar for UNESCO recognition. They emphasized that these locations have great pilgrimage and tourism potential for Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole”.
The team also commended the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration for its support of these cultural events and sites, noting the spiritual and cultural importance they hold for Ogun State and Nigeria.
They believe that by garnering more international recognition, these locations can attract more visitors and boost tourism in the region.
The visit underscored the importance of preserving and promoting Nigerian culture, as well as the need for continued support from government officials and organizations like NICO.
By working together, they said will ensure that Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage is celebrated and preserved for generations to come.
