YET TO BE IDENTIFIED MAN FEAR DEAD IN AN ACCIDENT AT AREA THREE (3) JUNCTION ABUJA

It was sad evening as a man fear dead was knocked down at area three (3) junction Abuja in an attempt to cross the express road without using the pedestrian bridge. The man whose identity is not known by anybody at the scene as at the time of filing this report. The yet to be identified victim was knocked down by a Toyota Venza at about 7:30 pm on Tuesday evening, 16/04/2019.
A medical doctor at the scene said that the man could make it if rush to the hospital and given prompt emergency attention. He was thereby taken immediately to yet to be disclose nearest hospital at the of filing this report. Information gathered from road users revealed that pedestrians do not like using the pedestrian bridge because of it distance from the bus stop/ motor park, saying that it is stressful walking from where you alight from taxi or tricycle to cross and walk same distance again to board on taxi or tricycle. A safety expert who spoke to panafricreporters.com anonymously said there is a tendency for reoccurrence of same except pedestrians comply with traffic laws by crossing roads using the pedestrian bridge. He further opined that the only way to avert this unfortunate reality is to use pedestrian bridges therefore appeals to Govt. and all road users to do the needful and call on government to move the area three (3) bus stop/ motor park close to the pedestrian bridge.
