MY VICTORY AT TRIBUNAL VALIDATES MY GOD GIVEN MANDATE – Hon. Godday Samuel
The honorable member representing the good people of Apa/Agatu Fed. Constituency in the green chamber of the 9th National Assembly, Hon. Godday Samuel Odagboyi’s victory in the 2019 general elections as declared by INEC upheld by the electoral tribunal sitting in Makurdi, the Benue state capital.
Hon. Godday Samuel Odagboyi with deep gratitude to God Almighty and the good people of his constituents, applauds the judgment of the Tribunal for upholding his victory in the last general elections, describing the judgement as “victory for democracy and the good people of Apa/Agatu Fed Constituency.”
“Today’s victory has proved to all and sundry that there is a limit to the extent to which falsehood and propaganda could be used to suppress the truth and the will of the people. This judgment indicates that “the resolve of the people did not go in vain” as I canvass for “greater vigilance to protect democracy” in the country at large.
The servant leader Hon. Member use the opportunity to thank his constituents for voting en-masse for the Labour Party-LP and defending their votes even in the face of such virulent intimidation and harassment, adding that the judgment is clearly a victory for democracy and the resilient and courageous people of Apa/Agatu.”
He profoundly commends the judiciary for its role as the defender of the constitution, saying that without a fearless and independent judiciary, democracy was imperiled. This judgment of the tribunal validates the saying that the judiciary is the last hope of the common man.
In an expression of gratitude to his constituents, he said “I would like to thank you all, the good people of Apa/Agatu, for your robust support and steadfastness throughout the needless periods of political travail and tribulation. I seize this opportunity to once again ask for the cooperation of all the citizens, partners, and friends and well wishers, let us continue with the task of rebuilding our constituents and restoring the core values of our people without any iota of distraction”.
The Hon. Reps. Member humbly call on the PDP candidate, Hon Ademu Entonu, who he described as a brother to join him in his efforts to take Apa/Agatu to the next level of development and prosperity.
