PRESS STATEMENT:BENUE SDP SYMPATHISES WITH MEMBERS OF CTS AND NUBESS SCHOOLING AT UNI WUKARI, EXPRESSES CONCERN ABOUT SAFETY OF STUDENTS AND PROPERTIES

    The Social Democratic Party, SDP, Benue State Chapter has sympathize with the Community of Tiv Student and NUBESS Wukari Chapters over recent crisis in Wukari which resulted to loss of lives of few students, while other students are declared missing. According to reports, two or more members of CTS and NUBESS are so far killed while some are declared missing during the crisis currently taking place within the University of Wukari Area. Reacting to the incident, the Benue SDP Chairman said he was shocked at the unfortunate loss and distractions the CTS and NUBESS had experience in Wukari. Commiserating with the surviving members of CTS and NUBESS Wukari chapters over the unfortunate incident, Enemari said: “The party’s leadership feel pains at this difficult moment but our prayers are with you as you struggle to overcome the misfortune.” While praying to God to comfort students affected by the sad incident, Enemari urged stakeholders to find a lasting solution to the frequent crisis between the Tiv and Jukun. According to the party’s State Chairman, Enemari, “there is urgent need to address the issue by enforcing security of Students and properties in the area in order to create a more condusive learning environment for students of the University”.
