TOTAL COMMISSIONS 10 MEGA CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY PROJECTS
Total Upstream Companies in Nigeria and her partners, NNPC, PETROBRAS, SAPETRO and CNOOC commissioned and handover 10 mega Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Projects in the North. The projects include the following:
1. ICT Center with Mini Theatre at Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azere, Bauchi State
2. ICT Center with Mini Theatre at Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto State
3. Mammography Center at General Hospital Anka, Zamfara State
4. Maternal & Child Referral Center in Bama, Borno State
5. School Science Laboratory at Govt. secondary School, Dutsinsafe, Katsina State
6. Block of Six Classroom at St. Boniface Primary School, Ida, Kogi State
7. Water Project at Bennin Kebbi, Kebbi State
8. Water Project at Sokoto Specialist Hospital, Sokoto, Sokoto State
9. Water Project at Offa, Kwara State
10. Water Project at Inye, Kogi State
Engr. Ahmadu-kida MUSA, the Deputy Managing Director, Deep Water District, Total E&P Nigeria Limited warmly welcome all guests and participants noting that the completion and commissioning of these projects, are in furtherance of the corporate social responsibility being part of the Deep Water Operation in accordance to some extant regulation, deep water operation adopt the entire country as their host especially for its CSR activities, he said.
Engr. Ahmadu-kida MUSA said the projects were borne out of the need to mitigate the gaps in qualitative and technical education, maternal and child health, access to clean water and sanitation, adding that the location of these projects were carefully chosen to impact the internally displaced persons especially in the North Eastern part of the country in congruence with the United Nations Sustainable goals Nos 3, 4, 6 and 7. He further stated, most of these projects are delivered with integrated solar power which is environment friendly and cheaper to run.

NNPC/Total and her partners (Petrobas, Sapetro and Cnooc), continues to deepen interventions in the Socia- economic environment of Nigeria through the deployment of various projects. The company annually provides 1600 scholarships to beneficiaries in tertiary institutions.
Engr. Ahmadu-kida MUSA charges and enjoins beneficiaries on the sustainable usage of the projects,
“As we hand over these projects to the various beneficiaries, we implore you to ensure their sustainable use so as to impact on the people positively. The sustainability barometer shall be seen during the Impact Assessment Exercise, when the company will come back to check on how these projects have helped and improved the lives of the communities where they are located”
Delegates of beneficiaries’ communities and projects’ managers expressed appreciation for the prompt interventions of NNPC/Total and partners and charged other companies to follow suite with the Social Corporate Responsibility model of NNPC /Total and partners. Prof. Bashir Garba, the Hon. Commissioner for Higher Education, Sokoto state in an interaction with panafricreporters says the project is timely and will have positive impact on the lives of the people and the state generally.

Aminu Suleiman, Project Manager, NNPC/Total Water Project Kebbi, Kebbi State in an interaction with our team revealed that the project captured the most critical area of needs of the people and communities hence, appreciates the interventions of NNPC/Total and partners. He added that the project is environment friendly with solar renewable energy which is self sustainable and the water gotten from it is of same standard and quality with the best table anywhere.
