Police from Kisii Central Station have arrested eleven people for alleged impersonation in the ongoing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations. Education officials and senior police officers raided the school; Milimani Ramasha Academy early Tuesday morning and managed to arrest the eleven. An unknown number of other ‘students’ also managed to escape. The school’s Principal is on the run but police have arrested his deputy who had picked the school’s KCSE examination papers from the Sub County Headquarters. The school is located in Kiogoro Division, Nyaribari Chache constituency. Few weeks back, Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha named Kisii as one of the examination cheating hotspots areas in the country.
Kisii Central Sub County Police Commander Zachary Kimani and area DCI Martin Korongo led the raid that has also put education officials in the area on the spot over poor infrastructure in the school. The school has no laboratories and the over 100 candidates will be forced to sit for their practicals from their classrooms. Few weeks back, Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha named Kisii as one of the examination cheating hotspots areas in the country. By lawi
