Chairman,House Committee on Foreign Affairs,Rt.Hon.( Dr.) Yusuf Buba Yakub, has conveyed his gratitude to the leaders of Hoba people across the globe without whose support and partnership he says the dream of a Federal Medical Centre in Hong would have been a mere mirage.
He said it was, indeed,a happy day for the people of Gombi/ Hong Federal Constituency as the Bill for the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre in Hong had just received the concurrence of the Nigerian Senate and was on its way to receiving Presidential Assent to become an Act of Parliament.
The lawmaker, who spoke , Wednesday, in Abuja during a courtesy visit by the leaders of Hoba Development Association,Abuja Chapter, thanked the leaders for their visit and support, informing that he would not in any way take their kind efforts to identify with him for granted.
Earlier speaking,President of the Association, Barrister Alheri B. Nyako, said the delegation of the Association was in a mission to engage with representatives and key stakeholders of the Hoba people in public offices in Abuja.
While also informing that the delegation was elected into office only last year, Nyako said it was still apt to congratulate the lawmaker on his election and performance since he assumed office in 2015, stressing that such performance, including his open-door policy of receiving everyone without the barriers of officialdom, could only be the reasons he broke records and became the first Federal lawmaker to enjoy re- election in Gombi/ Hong Federal Constituency.
Among those who accompanied Nyako on the visit were the Vice President of the Association,Bitrus Usumana;the Assistant Welfare Officer,Dr.( Mrs) Nancy Ayuba Gwani and Adamu Ahmed Modi, the Assistant Public Relations Officer of the group. Others include Wabundani Edward, Editor-in-chief of the Association’s magazine as well as Philemon Nuhu, who is the spokesperson of the Association.
