STUDENT-TRAINEES AT THE GIBSON JALO CANTONMENT RECEIVE MONTHLY ALLOWANCE FROM REP BUBA.
_Applaud Initiative as a Life-long Beneficial Programme_

As part of efforts geared towards the development of  the potential of the youths and women of Gombi/Hong Federal Constituency of Adamawa State for self-reliance, the lawmaker representing the area,Rt. Hon.( Dr.) Yusuf Buba Yakub ,Friday, commenced the payment of monthly allowances to each of the student-trainees.

The programme,which commenced about a month ago and is expected to last six months,is part of the Constituency Empowerment Programmes initiated by the lawmaker in conjunction with the authorities of the 23 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Jimeta, Yola.

The programme had come on the heels of the direct material empowerment exercise which took place in his Constituency last month for Party leaders, traditional rulers and selected members of Gombi/Hong Federal Constituency,each of whom was presented with items ranging from cars to motorcycles and grinding machines to water-pumping machines and cash gifts.

The Gombi/ Hong Rep is undertaking the transportation and general allowances for about fifty student-trainees involved  in the acquisition of various skills earmarked for the programme. Rt. Hon. Buba,who is also the Chairman,House Committee on Foreign Affairs, is also expected to provide starter-packs, other equipment and cash to each of the student-trainees upon their graduation from the exercise.

Speaking to the Media Office of the lawmaker via telephone,Friday,in Abuja,some of the student-trainees thanked the lawmaker for giving them a new lease of life. They, equally, applauded  the skill acquisition programme as one that would be of a Life-long benefit to the beneficiaries.
