The Convener, Movement for Advancement and Peaceful Nigeria (MAP Nigeria), comrade Martin Msughter Iorsamber has emerged the Senatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party SDP in Benue North East Senatorial district for the 2023 general elections.
Comrade Martin, the 36 year old Benue Activist and anti corruption crusader joined the Senatorial race last year to unseat the former governor of the state senator Gabriel Suswam of the People’s Democratic Party.

The young activist was declared the party’s candidate during an affirmative congress attended by elected delegates from the eighty four Electoral wards of the Senatorial district held in Katsina Ala on Saturday 28th May, 2022.

The result sheet of the election sighted by our correspondence signed by the SDP electoral officer for the election Mr Targema Ioraa shows that Comrade Martin was the sole aspirant of the party for the position. The process was witnessed by INEC and some civil societies such as the center for Human capital development and sustainability.

Martin Iorsamber is the second Senatorial candidate to emerge from the zone after his main challenger, the Senate committee chairman on power and former governor of the state, Senator Gabriel Suswam emerged the sole candidate of the PDP
