2023: Adebayo Wins SDP Presidential Nomination

An Ondo Kingdom born legal luminary and business mogul, Prince Adewole Adebayo of the Social democratic Party has emerged winner of the Social Democratic Party’s presidential primary held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

While two aspirants in his honor stepped down and jettison their aspiration for the most powerful and honored office in the land, one among the aspirants, Khadija Lamidi-Okunnu contested to the poll where she was defeated.

Though, the tussle to become the presidential standard flag bearer of the party is a family affair where the out come of the tussle is described as ” no victor, no vanquish tussle.

Two aspirants, Femi Olufunmilayo ,Dorathy Nuhu Aken’ova, had earlier stepped down,  asking their supporters to vote for Adebayo while promising to collapse their campaign structure into the Adebayo SDP’s campaign structure for the 2023 election..

In their separate remark while addressing the public before the election said they have stepped down in the interest of the nation and the party however, acknowledged the compitent and wealth of knowledge and experience Prince Adebayo is possessed of and will bring to bare therefore expressed confident and hope in Adebayo’s candidature.

In the election that is adjudged as one of the most transparent process in recent time, Prince Adewole got 1526 votes out of 1769 votes to defeat his rival, Khadija Lamidi-Okunnu.

Valid votes – 1609
Invalid votes – 44
