The Honourable Member elect to represent the good people of Ado/ Okpokwu/ Ogbadibo federal constituency in 25 February election stated this after receiving his certificate in Abuja.
The 2023 election election he said is a great one for this country because of the diverse opinions and people drawn across different political parties, coming together to converge at the National Assembly.
It is not going to be business as usual. We are looking forward to a house where we will have a robust debate on national issues and where people will come together to promote interests and ideas that will enhance the condition of their constituencies.
As for me and my people of Ado/ Okpokwu/ Ogbadibo federal constituency, we have a singular agenda to improve their welfare, well-being, and living conditions; to develop our land, and to do better than what every other person has done in the past.
We are, therefore, looking forward to cooperation, interaction, and synergy with other members; getting to work as soon as we resume and of course to avoid the rancor of 2015 between the executive and legislature. I’m also looking forward to a rancor-free leadership process whereupon inauguration, we have a smooth working relationship.
By the special grace of God, we will do everything possible to work with the executives despite the diverse political parties
My sister (PDP’s Aida Nath Ogwuche) is free to say what she said about winning the elections and I equally want to sympathize with her because every one of us had the mindset to win. But we can’t have two or three winners from the same process. The exercise was very free and fair. The issues she is even talking about don’t exist. For instance, my LGA (Ado) has the highest voting population. But because of voter apathy, use of BVAS, financial inducements, and others, we had the lowest votes when compared to previous years.
My mandate has been accepted by the largest population of our people. I garnered the most votes ever recorded in the constituency. But my ideology is, we are all winners. We are partners in progress and believe we will work together irrespective of political parties.
