The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare the outstanding Abia State Governorship election result with immediate effect.
Addressing journalists at the party office in Umuahia, the State Capital, on Tuesday morning, Mr Nkem Ukandu, the ADC Deputy National Secretary who was the State Collation agent said it was evident that the candidate of the Labour party had won the Governorship poll in Abia, wondering why the delay in declaring the labour party’s candidate, as the winner of the exercise held last Saturday.
He urged the international community, and every well meaning Nigerians to mount pressure on INEC to declare the results immediately.
” INEC should announce the results as expressed by the good people of Abia State.
“INEC should ensure that only accredited votes in Obingwa LGA should be counted.
” As a party, we stand by the choice expressly made by the Abia electorates through their votes”.
Mr Ukandu encouraged Abians to remain peaceful and law abiding, trusting that INEC would follow her own rules to declare the outstanding result.
