Today’s devotional will dwell on how government officials have worked out wasted opportunities for their nations. The devotional takes the discussion from how Joseph instructed King Pharaoh that the Egyptians are to store up enough foods in the period of bountiful harvests because seven years of great famine would hit the world. King Pharaoh hearkened and it was good for the Egyptians. Many governments of the world which failed to convert their period of bountiful harvests into storage period ahead of the days of lack are still regretting their wasted opportunities. God allocated different portions of the earth to nations for His personal reasons. The nations having natural and human resources are given opportunity to make their people world suppliers of the resources. Most of these nations today sold off their resources and now borrowing from the nations who never had it before.
The nations living in arid lands were given opportunities to learn how to turn their dried lands to modern food productions nations with their agrarian knowledge God would give them. Today, we have the like of India, Israel, Ethiopia, to mention but few, who are in arid countries using their knowledge of modern irrigations feeding the whole world. Indians were taught by their leaders to learn how to do everything by themselves and or themselves. She has the most limited foreign companies. With the large portion of arid lands and Rocky Mountains, Israel has, she supplies the Western worlds with best tomatoes and vegetable foods.
A nation with bountiful resources but chose to waste them on personal selfishness has neither reason to blame God nor its common people. God never blessed any nation for wasting. Joseph advised King Pharaoh to store foods in the days of plenty. He did and it turned out good for the Egyptians. When after Jesus fed the five thousand people, He asked them to gather the remains. They did and had twelve extra full baskets. These two illustrations show that God does not want wasting resources. Where there is a country blessed with natural and human resources and the leaders chose to loot everything into their personal kingdom, such a country is “a wasted opportunity nation.” Observations are showing that problems of food scarcities, high inflations and high cost of living are on the increase globally now. The religious organization must teach the world “Heaven Economy” and the world leaders should listen to the religious leaders.
PRAYER:
Pray, asking God to first have mercy on the world leaders who waste His given abundant resources to their people. Ask God in prayers to change the world leaders to having listening ears to His instructions concerning His kind of leadership.
