Barely two weeks to the swearing in of the principal officers of the National Assembly, the executive Governor of Osun state Ademola Adeleke has thrown his weight behind Hon Tajudeen Abbas for speaker and Hon. Benjamin Kalu for depurty speaker respectively.
He stated this on Wednesday during a caucus visit of the joint task force and Unity Forum for Abbas/Kalu 2023 at governor’s house Oshogbo, capital of Osun state .
The Governor while addressing the team endorsed the dou candidature of Abbas/Kalu. The governor who reposed confident on the dou, says “Abbas will be a speaker for all, adding that the team is composition of the entire Nigeria irrespective of party affiliations.
He said he will canvass votes for them and also assured them that all the PDP members elect will vote for them with the hope of making a difference.
I want to informed you of my full support and be rest assured that I will canvass votes for you from members elect and the returning ones ,Adeleke stated.
The governor, while endorsing Abbas said it was not about party but the candidates and was optimistic that Abbas will make a difference if elected.
He therefore tasked Abbas to continue to carry all members along and as well take rightful decisions that will benefit the people irrespective of party affiliations.
Noting that what the country needs now are competent hands and detribalised candidates that will fight for the interest of all especially, the common man ,Adeleke stated.
He therefore urged all Osun members elect of the house of Representatives to mobilise support and votes for Abbas and Kalu.

Tajudeen Abbas told the governor that they were in the state to solicit for his support and also receive his blessings for the up coming leadership of the 10th Assembly.
