Says His Past Records Speak for Him
Urges Him to Hit the Ground Running in the Fight against Insecurity
Adamawa-born former Federal lawmaker and renowned realtor, Rt. Hon. ( Dr.) Yusuf Buba Yakub, has said that the public service records of the pioneer Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC),Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, have continued to make way for him wherever his name is mentioned many years after he left public office.
He added that, in addition to being a dogged crime fighter, renowned intelligence officer and a man of iron-clad integrity, the retired AIG of Police is highly respected for his inclination to hard work, self discipline and austere living, qualities,Buba observed, had commended him to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the search for a Security Adviser that will impact the times.
The former Gombi/ Hong Rep,who stated the above in a message he released to his Media Office today in Abuja while reacting to the appointment of the former EFCC boss to head the security architecture of the entire country under the Tinubu Administration,also stressed that there was no doubt, whatsoever, as to what the Adamawa-born retired Police Chief would achieve in his new position.
Buba also hailed the appointment as one which has yet again demonstrated the thoughtful and serious bent the new Tinubu Administration is prepared to take in the critical sectors of the nation’s life and urged the newly-appointed Special Security Adviser to Mr President to hit the ground running as one who is already acquainted with the reality of the security situation in the country.

“This appointment, coming at the highpoint of your illustrious career as a foremost crime and security expert,an astute lawyer and highly-respected Senior Police Officer,one that has served the nation at the highest levels of trust and responsibility,and,indeed,an accomplished politician,can only be an eloquent testimony of your public service records and credentials, spanning decades of hard work and concrete results.
“We are, indeed,happy to be associated with you as a great icon to our generation of Adamawa people and other Nigerians,who subscribe to the age-long truism that’ a good name is better than silver and gold’.We are also grateful to His Excellency,Mr President, for this grand honour done to one of our very own.
“As you take up this new task in your characteristic zeal and honest fervour to turn in desirable results,I have no doubt that you will achieve results that will speak to your expertise knowledge of security and crime control, especially,as one who hails from our dear State, Adamawa,which,given our proximity to international borders, in over the last one decade has remained one of the hotbeds of insurgent and criminal activities in our land.
“It is my solid conviction, however, that you will in this new task draw heavily from your past records and experience as an intelligence officer of high repute and the celebrated anti-corruption czar who led the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as its pioneer Chairman, in order to justify the confidence Mr President reposes in you and the high expectations of all Nigerians who have for a very long time truly desired, wished and prayed for a nation that guarantees optimal peace and security to the citizenry.
“While pledging our support and prayers for you in this new assignment,I urge you to hit the ground running as one who is already highly acquainted with all the realities on ground in relation to the nation’s security architecture.
“Once again,Sir,for myself and on behalf of my family ,I congratulate you on this new appointment and pray that you receive the strength,deeper wisdom and insight to achieve great results,”he ended.
You may recall that Mallam Nuhu Ribadu was one of the aspirants that contested for the gubernatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Adamawa State.An out-of-court settlement of what ought to have been a long-drawn legal tussle with the eventual standard-bearer of the Party,Sen.Aishatu Ahmed Dahiru (Binani),was averted by what was believed to be the intervention of some leaders of the APC across the country,who had then facilitated a quiet truce between the warring groups in the Party.
