Kebbi State Government has prioritized education in the state, reiterated its commitment toward supporting all the tertiary educations across the state.
This according to a press release signed by Chief Press Secretary to Kebbi State Governor, Ahmed Idris was disclosed by the state government delegation lead by the Chief of Staff to Kebbi State Governor, Barr Attahiru Maccido, who undertook an official tour visit to the University of Science and Technology Aliero.
The Chief of Staff explained that the present administration “is ready to support the university to ensure that it produces sound, qualitative and employable graduates.”
He commended the efforts of the management for establishing some departments such as School of Medicine, Environmental among others.
“We are in the university to interact with the management, see things for ourselves and to have a first hand information about the institution with a view to providing the needs of the university,” he assured.
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Ladan Aliero, who expressed appreciation for the visit also briefed the delegation about the history, important issues, achivements recorded as well as urgent needs that required Government’s attention.
He thanked the Kebbi State Governor and the delegation for their concern and commitment towards supporting the institution for greater productivity.
The delegation include; Permenant Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Alhaji Abdulmumin Abdullahi and Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff, Government House, Alhaji Garba Hamisu.
The delegation was received on arrival by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ladan Aliero alongside management staff and some high ranking officers of the university as well as the institution’s union leaders.
The chapter President of Academic Staff Union of Universties (ASUU), Dr Yale and his counterpart of Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Nura Kindi respectively gave their inputs.
The VC led the deligation on tour of some places in the university, including; the university’s library, College of Health Scinces, Molecular Laboratory of Faculty of Agriculture, Students’ Hostels and Sports Complex, workshop centre of Faculty of Engineering, convocation arena and university’s Water Works.
