We saw in yesterday’s devotional, an introductory part of “Living an organized Life” from general perspectives. The devotional is establishing a fact which sees that today’s disorganized societies is products of individuals who are disorganized ethically. Looking at the olden days will give us a picture when most people living then were highly organized people. Then things were going on orderly. In those days, communities lived on common discipline where everybody respected the laws of their people. Today, many are living in lawlessness. Then, human beings are controlled by their peoples’ constitution, be it oral or written. This made people so organized in behaviours. Presently, many nations are no longer controlled by their constitutions. This is because most people who struggled through disorganized life have ascended to the leadership thrones. They have allowed people behaving the ways they are behaving now. Undoubtedly, there is an existence globalized entrance into politics by desperate politicians fighting for personal interests only.
An organized person first places respect for self, then for the dos and don’ts of the society because the laws coordinate one’s activities. In the days past, civil servants so organized themselves; maintaining decorum, shunning dirty characters and avoiding fraudulent practices involving siphoning public funds. In the early good days, human identities are controlled by decency in dressings, speeches, the ways we eat in public etc. Living an organized life in those days was mainly for protecting one’s good image, family image, the person’s national image and the image God gave humans when they are being created. These days, the world is losing “living in an organised life” speedily. In those days, the beauty of the minds is reflected in the beauty of the outer appearances. Today, we say the beauty of character is in the heart and not in appearances.
As Christians, we must value living in an organized life. God worked in controlled and well balanced nature. He thoughtfully and creatively created all He created, reviewed them and saw they were all very good (Gen. 1: 31). He gave His rules and regulations on how human beings should behave in the world. Let us see few of how God instituted regulations for organized life: (1). Human beings are given laws against indecent sexual relationship with married women, with father’s wives, with fellow man, animals (beasts) in Lev. 20: 7 – 16. Today, people have breached all this regulations. The world goes against anyone talking of this in the public today. Reason we are living in a disorganized world sexually. (2). God gave laws to people to be organized in training self not to be involved in dishonest businesses (Lev. 19: 35 – 36). It takes great effort of an organized life to live above dishonesty in our present world today. There so many of these kinds of regulations in the Bible but for want of space, we stop here.
PRAYER:
LORD JESUS, you were so organized in life while in this world. I pray today that you send me the Holy Spirit of Self-organization to re-arrange my lifestyles today.
