The Ezza Community in Abuja, celebrated her Annual New Yam Festival, traditionally known as, ‘UKEAKU EZZA’, on Sunday, 23rd July, 2023, meant to preserving the rich cultural heritage of Ezza nation.
Speaking at the occasion, Hon. Eze Nwachukwu Eze, representing Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency of Ebonyi State, expressed total displeasure over the lingering crisis between Ezza and Effium Communities in Ohaukwu LGA and some parts of Benue State. Chief Eze lamented the damage the crisis has caused the people within the last two years and charged leaders from both side of the divides to embrace peace for the sake of children and women and for the overall interest of Ohaukwu LGA.
The Honourable Member reiterated his passion to ensuring total development of the Zone which according him, cannot be achieved in a raging atmosphere where people are not compatible. He pleaded with all stakeholders concern to henceforth preach peace to their followers for social cohesion as he strives daily to changing the fortune of his people through quality legislations.
