Living as a human being is itself a great mystery. Mystery in the sense that no one knows how he is created and the events of things lined up for him/her while journeying along the routes of life. Life is so designed or programmed that what should happen to one the next minute is unknown. Death comes at times not through protracted illness. That someone is born into an affluence family today is not a guarantee that he or she will remain rich and wealthy forever on the earth. God so programme life in a way that only the fools boast of who they are or what they possessed. Life always stands on “ups and downs” pendulum. Today one is sworn to a place of joy, tomorrow he or she is shifted to a place of sorrow. Behind all these stand God’s purposes. Only God will tell us why we are processed through thick and thin, glorious and ignoble experiences, dehumanizing and a near slave trainings in life.
Today’s devotional is about telling us that whoever we think we are created for, God created us for His purposes.. Everyone born into this world ought to make this list of one God created and programmed for His purposes. As human beings, when things would happen to us, the nature of the happening and how the happening will end is in God’s hands. Those who have this knowledge hardly complain of being in an unwanted condition. All they do is waiting on God positively till God’s purposes for what is happening are revealed. The Bible contains many whose ways of life reflected that God knew why they pass through such situations in life. Jesus Christ knew that the main purposes He was brought into this world were for Him to make lives meaningful for the down-trodden people, the sick and diseased to a point of them been rejected by relations and friends. He came to heal people of various degrees free of charge. He severally told His hearers that because of this, I came. For instance, in Mark 1: 38 – 39 He said: “Let’s go on to the neighbouring villages so that I may preach there too. This is why I have come. So he went…” (Apologetic Study Bible). In another development He said: “For the Son of Man came to seek and save what was lost” (Luke 19: 10 NIV).
Any how we are born, crippled, blind, poor, rich and wealthy; truth remains that we have God’s purposes buried in our lives. This devotional comes to assure Christians and every human being that they all have roles to play in this world. How you are naturally does not matter in life. What matters in life is about knowing why you are created and for what purpose you are created. This is the only way you will identify the purposes by which you are created for. In a lighter mood, someone may be born cripple, but with God’s intention that he/she watches over a community when others have gone to work. David was born into a family a loner and made to be a shepherd boy while his step brothers were enjoying family privileges. God purposed him this way to enable him learn how to become a powerful warrior in future. Are you, reading this piece one of those who have concluded that nothing good will come out of what you are doing or the kind of life you are living? Follow us to the next devotionals.
PRAYER:
Blessed Jehovah and my Father, give me clearer understanding of why I am born the ways I am now so that I can appreciate you better in the name of Jesus Christ.
