The world has never allowed Christians believe that God is their protector, provider and preserver because of the loads of evil and good each of them are bearing. Many people are saying that if God is LOVE and have no evil plans for those who believe in Him; those believing in Him should not be seen experiencing evils around them. However, as faithful children of God, we are taught to accept whatever God brought on our ways because He is our potter. He can subject us to squeezing us, crushing us, reshaping us as well as allowing us to be ruined by situations. After this He gathers us together and mend us to another better shape of His choice. Because of unbearable circumstances human beings are passing through in this world, many are tempted to refuse that God meant good for them in life. God who said He will bring us to our expected end meant His words. We do not have to argue this with Him.
The lead passage of Isaiah has said it all, why one should not argue with His maker. This is because we are clay in the hands of God and so we are not to argue with God for whatever things He has made us as a lay pot has no right to argue with the potter. Irony of life has been that those God so blessed hardly return commiserating thanks to Him and those not blessed enough refuse to worship God properly. It is foolishness for us Christians arguing with our maker. Sorrow awaits those arguing with God over how God sculptured (carve or mold) them. See the full text of the lead passage for better understanding: “What sorrow awaits those who argue with their creator. Does a clay pot argue with its maker? Does the clay dispute with the one who shapes it, saying ‘stop, you’re doing it wrong!’ does the pot exclaim, ‘How clumsy can you be?’ How terrible it would be if a newborn baby said to its father, ‘why was I born?’ Or its mother, ‘why did you make me this way?”(Africa Study Bible).
Just like the worldly potter does to the clay, God handles us according to His own biddings. He would look at us and perceived something has gone wrong, then break us into clay again. He would later gather us together and remold us again into a better shape. This usually happen to us mostly through ugly circumstances. It may be when we lose jobs, businesses, husband or wife. When things go wrong, we have to know that the Potter is about turning us to new and better vessels. No one can replace what we have lost that gives satisfaction like God. You may be sorrowing and worrying, wait on God. You might be in a country today where nothing is working economically, spiritually and socially. You might have been tempted to check out of the country. If God says “do not go anywhere, please do not argue with Him. Never try disputing God’s decisions for you. He is your Potter and you are mere clay in His hands. Always allow Him turns you around and good at his own time. You will not regret it at all, the beloved!
PRAYER:
HOLY SPIRIT, do not allow me to argue with God or dispute whatever he tell me to do. His anger lies in refusing His words as well as disputing His decisions. Allow me be who God turn me to in Jesus name.
