Nothing can be so disheartening like passing through pains or dangers without a sympathiser. Every person would desire hearing someone else talking in soothing words to him/her when in crisis of pains and deadly situation. Heart and mind is torn in pieces when expecting a sympathetic touch of a lover or one who cares in time of disasters but felt not the touching. Most often, people tend to look away from God, at peaks of many problems. There is always one who does overcome challenges in life. This is a person who knows that God stands by at times of hope deflating moment. In times of dangers or pains, the best to do is in knowing and trusting that God is for you.
Assurance of having God standing for or always be for us is key reason for winnings victories of life. We Christians should have firm believe that we have God being for us in every situation we found ourselves. God is ever pleased with those who know He is for them in times of difficulties. He always knows our circumstances and makes provisions for us if we hold on to Him. Apostle Paul asked a rhetorical but powerful question when he said: “If then God is for us, who will be against us?” (Rom. 8: 31). The whole world might be against us as Christians. Knowing that God is for us and firmly trusting in Him makes Him comes for our help at a dangerous time for our enemies to be surmounted. Naturally, many feel threatened under flashes of trials and troubles. When such situation comes and lingers a little, cry to God. Do not run out of God’s presence.
The beloved of God, you do not need your mother, father or anyone to be for you because they are limited in resources and power that could help you. When God be for you, you are covered from all evil plots. Your readiness to wait till God comes for you is very important. In the midst of obstacles and threats, know that God is for you. Minds will diminish and prayers may be weakened but allow a little trust on God to keep you. King David, a man acquainted with oppressions from enemies understood that if God is for him, mere humans are no threat to him. He said: “The LORD is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?” (Psa. 118: 6 – Africa Study Bible). Let this mind of David be in you reading this devotional; that if God be for you, then you will not fear mere people or be scared by their presence.
PRAYER:
BLESSED FATHER, grant me the mind of King David as expressed in Psa. 188: 6; so that fear does not overwhelm me when passing through distresses till help comes to me from you. I pray this in Jesus name.
