One of the best ways to show appreciation to somebody who did a great work for you is telling others what the person has done for you. Every normal person feels great on hearing about a great thing he/she has done to someone else being expressed by the beneficiary. In another form, people usually feel happy, excited and joyful hearing commendation from another person about how wonderful the individual has been to people through works of good wills. God our Almighty Father does feel great and happy when He hears somebody expressing His wonderful works for that individual. Expressing the wonders of God in our lives gives Him joy than complaining and murmuring over what does not work well with us.
With the turn of evil and heartbreaking things happening in this world, it should be proper for every human being to evaluate the wonderful and marvelous works of God over him/she for being alive from January to December of the same year. Daily Hope Devotionals dedicate whole month of December to praising God. Those who followed us in our volume 1 of our devotionals will attest to this. In this volume 2 our devotionals will be publishing statements of lifting up God’s wonderful works, talking how great He has been to mankind and expression of joy over God’s goodness on mankind. King David happened to be well known personality in this.
King David was too unique in the use of music (praise), poems and making statements about God’s goodness over him. One of the lead passages above shows King David’s personal vow to declare the wonderful works of God as long as he lives. Any Christian acquainted with David’s stories in the Bible knows that he suffered much in the hands of his enemies as well as seen much chastisements from God. He noticed that the Lord has chastened him very much, yet God did not give him up to dead. For this reason, King David vowed to be declaring the works of the LORD (Psa. 118: 17 – 18). We can again see how passionate King David looked into God’s wonderful works here: “Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you, were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare (Psa. 40: 5 NIV). This is great!
PRAYER:
BLESSED HOLY SPIRIT, always show me the wonderful works God has done to me so as never to be ingrate to God. LORD JESUS, give me grace to be grateful to God always. Amen.
