Strength can be defined as the quality or state of being strong; capacity for exertion, endurance. It also stands for power to resist force, solidity, toughness. Power to resist attack. The strength in your mind for the things of God spurs you to take challenges, being proactive and not allowing whatever assignment given to you by God, your pastor, Bishop and priest to die in your hands. (Eccl. 9:10) “whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might, for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.”
The virtuous woman riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. (Pro 31:15) A letter written by the Lord to the seven churches about their conduct: “ I know thy work, that thou art neither cold or hot. Because thou art lukewarm, I will spur thee out of my mouth.” (Rev 3:15-16).
Rom 12:11 “Not slothful In biz, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.” The word fervent or diligence means to be zealous; to put in a very special effort. It’s a zeal to be used to the fullest possible extent, all that God has given to you. We are to be diligent and not slothful because, if you look around, you see so many that are backsliding, that just leave the word of the Lord, that don’t seem to care anymore. They stop fighting the good fight and drift away with the current wave. We are to go fishing on our beloved brethren that have drifted away from faith.
Loving God with your strength entails you trading with the talent God has given you in a profitable manner. The slothful servant hid or buried his talent (the precious gift) given to him by his master, and he was termed unprofitable.
Can you recall how zealous and committed you were to the things of God years back when you first encountered God? How is your zeal now? Are you still burning for God or the cares of this life have extinguished the fire? The slothful servant was faced with double tragedy: firstly, his talent was taken away from him, secondly; he was casted into outer darkness, where he would weep and gnash his teeth forever (Matt 25:26).
PRAYER POINTS:
• May my work for God on earth not be in vain in Jesus Name.
• May the problems of this life not make me backslide, O, God.
• Give me the grace to serve you to the end.
CONFESSION:
I will serve God with all my strength. My life shall be profitable.
My fire is being rekindle by the day. So help me God.
