President Bola Tinubu has received commendations for his decision to cancel the posting of a new Permanent Secretary to the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
The FCT Minister, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has also been praised for his role in the quick intervention that led to the reversal of the posting.
The League of Retired and Serving FCTA Directors, representing workers, expressed gratitude for the determination of both leaders to bring about wide-ranging reforms in the FCTA.
The League Chairman, Lukeman Oramosele, commended President Tinubu and Minister Wike for their commitment to reforms aimed at repositioning the FCT Administration, boosting staff morale, improving productivity, and enhancing service delivery to the public.
Oramosele highlighted the achievements made in human, institutional, and physical development within a few months of the duo’s assumption of office.
He noted that abandoned project sites were now witnessing increased construction activities, bringing hope for better times in the FCT and Nigeria.
The League expressed optimism about the leadership’s focus on overcoming challenges and steering toward calm waters.
The reversal of the posting came after protests by FCTA staff, citing the recent approval by the President for the establishment of the FCT Civil Service Commission, which did not include the position of Permanent Secretary.
The League of Retired and Serving FCTA Directors serves as a platform for FCTA bureaucrats to collaborate and share experiences for the improvement of service delivery.
