The Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation, in collaboration with the Borno State Government, announces the upcoming 10th Annual Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Lecture on Leadership and Good Governance. The highly anticipated event will take place on Saturday, 27th January 2024, in Maiduguri, Borno State.
This year’s theme, “Creating pathways for peace: tackling banditry and insurgency through good governance for sustainable development,” reflects the pressing need to address the challenges of banditry and insurgency in Nigeria. The lecture aims to explore the role of good governance in fostering sustainable development and promoting peace in the nation.
We are honored to announce that His Excellency Prof Tijjani Bande GCON, Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and former President of the UN General Assembly, will be delivering the keynote address at the event. With his vast experience and expertise in international relations, His Excellency Prof Tijjani Bande GCON will provide valuable insights into tackling banditry and insurgency through effective governance.
We are also delighted to have His Excellency Sen Kashim Shettima GCON, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as the Special Guest of Honor at the event. His presence reflects the importance and recognition of this lecture in addressing critical issues facing our nation.
The Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, His Excellency Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya CON, Executive Governor of Gombe State, will be serving as the Chairperson for this esteemed occasion, while His Excellency Prof Babagana Umara Zulum CON FNSE, FNIAE, mni the Executive Governor of Borno State serves as the Chief Host.
The 10th Annual Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Lecture on Leadership and Good Governance will be attended by distinguished guests, including Governors, Members of the National Assembly, Honorable Ministers, Royal Fathers, and other stakeholders. Their presence will further enrich the discussions and contribute to finding sustainable solutions for peace and development.
