A curse is a divine judgement upon sin. Nobody can curse you without a cause. It could be as a result of outright violation of an established law of the universe or disobedience to the word of God. The proper response to the judgement of God is repentance. One can be laboring under a generational curse without knowing. For example; (Exo. 20:5-6) God said, “…I, the lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the fathers’ sin, to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing faithful love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commands.” (Prov. 26:2) The Bible says,” a curse without a cause shall not come.” Every curse has a cause and we must find the cause in order to properly deal with the curse.
Reuben committed that sin of incest for forty years without confession and repentance, the father knew of it but waited for him to be remorseful over it and he never did. Long after Reuben died, the curse continued to work against his descendants. They were disinherited, and everything worked against them until Moses prayed to God for a reversal of that curse. In Deut. 33:6, “Let Reuben live, and not die, nor let his men not be few.”
Punishment for a sin may not be immediate but it is certain. Confess your sins to God and shun every secret lifestyle of sin in order for God to have mercy on you. Genuine repentance is required, thank God that you are still alive, there is no repentance in the grave, today is the right time. No man can curse a blessed man and you are that blessed man!! (Num. 23: 8). As many that hate you for no just cause, your enemies shall be cursed except they repent.
