The steadfast love of God is the same as the mercy of God. I wish to congratulate anyone of you reading this devotional today who is little discouraged with life and your walk with the Lord. When such seasons come, and they will, God will not leave you alone. God’s presence with us is constant and unchanging, never exhausted. It knows no end. You may be asking in your mind, “how can God steadfastly love me, and yet allows me to lose a loved one? How can He allow me to experience untold hardships? Why am I childless? God’s love for His people is steadfast even in the darkest of times.
In Ruth 1:1 -2, Elimelech and his wife, Naomi and his two sons; Mahlon and Kilion from Bethlehem Judah went to live in the country of Moab. Within the period of ten years, Elimelech died and his two sons died later. Naomi concluded that the Lord was against her. (Ruth 1:13b) She said, “I went out full, but the Lord has brought me back empty. Why do you call me Naomi. Since the Lord has witnessed against me and the Almighty has afflicted me?” (Ruth 1:21) But Ruth, the daughter-in-law cling to her. Her steadfast love for the mother in -law parallels God’s expression of steadfast love. She was with her through it all (Ruth 1: 16-17; 2: 11-12). Sometimes, we may not understand why bad things happen to good people, but it is certain that, in the midst of it all, the Lord does not abandon His covenant children. Therefore, whatever you are passing through, it is because of the steadfast love of God that the worst has not happened.
(Lam. 3: 22), “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassion fails not.” (Job 14:7),” For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again.” Cheer up beloved!! You are coming out stronger in Jesus Name.
