The Senate majority whip, Dst. Sen. Ali Ndume receives Para-Soccer FCT Team Award of Excellence as a mark of gratitude from the team for his consistent support for the team.
The award which was presented to the Senator at a committee room in National Assembly yesterday, Wednesday 28th February speaks to the continued support of sen. Ndume which trailblazed the needed philanthropic gesture for training, empowerment and protection of the rights of people living with disability(s).
The chairman and founder of the Para-Soccer FCT Team, Misbahu Lawan Did while presenting the Para-Soccer FCT Team Award of Excellence says the support of the awardee over the years has deepens their courage as well presented helped which ameliorated against poverty, hunger and unemployment etc.
Counting the tangible assistant of the awardee, Misbahu says includes the distribution 500,000:00 Naira each to people living with disabilities during the covid, donation of 1000 tricycles, employment opportunities and the protection of the rights of people living with disabilities among others.
If will have your kind in multiple, people living with disabilities will not suffer the stigma and exclusion they suffered. He therefore urge other Nigerians to emulate the courage and disposition of His Excellency, Ali Ndume to people living with disabilities.
Earlier, Ndume in his welcome address assured the FCT Para-Soccer Team of his continue support and commitment to making the team and its activities more robust to reflect the Renewed Hope Agenda of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
On employment opportunities, Sen. Ndume assures them of a legislation that will make sure that they are given opportunity like other Nigerians to enroll into the civil service and grow through to the peak of the career however, note that such opportunities will be for those who have the qualifications and every requirements for employment.
Address journalists when asked why are the people living with disabilities are so dear to him, he said as a child of nobody who became somebody, I considered it a responsibility to help others and o become somebody irrespective of tribes, religion, ethnic etc.
