We have had two series of this devotional centered on marks of evil with purposes of destroying some body; limit his or her successes and promotion. Other purposes, as mentioned, involve early death, no marriages and many others. In this devotional, we will be talking of physical marks we carry about which evoke afflictions upon us unknowingly in our natural senses. These marks can be dress styles, hair-do, perfume wore, hurting characters, traditional face marks and cutting of the skins and tattooing. Christians are supposed to be sensitive to all these areas mentioned above, because they either evoke evil attacks or give one away for the attacks. Christians who involves selves with wearing dresses with spiritual patterns dedicated to evil world contact the afflictions spelt out for the patterns. It can be seen here why King Jehoshaphat was to be killed because he dressed like King under the instruction of the King of Judah.
As a female Christian, do you dress about like Jezebel? Then you carry a Jezebel’s mark. Jezebel’s kind of dressing makes a lady looks like a prostitute. Many young boys in Nigeria carry about marks of slaves as they have all opted for wearing sagging pants and trousers. Sagging trousers emanated from United State prison where prisoners were supplied with oversized trousers, and not allowed to use belts for fear of using the belts as makeshift weapons. Those sagging pants carry themselves about as members of slave given to sexual depravity. It depicts a dehumanizing practice called “breaking the buck” from where slavery and rape are order of living.
Biblically rejected mark to be carrying about is cutting of skins in form of designing patterns on the body. Others are in form of putting traditional marks on the faces. One may dispute this, but the truth is, the marks on the faces and body designed patterns represent one god or other gods. Some facial patterns represent those who have died in the community. Spirits of the pattern is evoked by prayers before the chin or the face is cut. Through this, afflictions are invoked. God told Israelites “You shall not make any cut on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves: I am the LORD” (Lev. 19: 28 ESV). This explains why God’s people should not cut their skins for marks or tattooing themselves, in Deut. 14: 1 – 2 God said His People are special people, chosen for His treasures.
It is very important to infer that some people carry themselves about with bad characters dropped on them by evil forces. Besides characters, others wear “smelling” body odors unknown to them sprayed by evil forces. I may not know whose mark you are carrying about, making things difficult for you. The marks you are carrying about are not death sentences. As a Christian, we have hope in God. He has potential marks to give that overwhelm those given by demonic agents. He marked the people in the city of Judah during Prophet Ezekiel to preserve them from being massacred by their enemies (Ezek. 9: 4). By becoming a Christian, you are anointed with Jesus’ blood as untouchable. You can move from nation to nation with this mark and will no longer suffer the consequences of evil marks on your body. This is what Psalms 105: 13 – 14 portrayed. All you need do now, if you perceive carrying evil marks, is faithful prayers to God to revoke the powers of the marks. Self-deliverance prayers can help. Your prayer can cancel the powers with the name of Jesus Christ as well as using the Blood of Jesus Christ. You can meet genuine deliverance Servant of God also. Receive the power from Jesus to become free today from any mark upon your life causing you passing through troubles. Watch out for the series on “Wearing the Marks Of Christ” from tomorrow.
