A shelter is a place giving protection from bad weather or danger; a place providing food and accommodation for those in need. It is something that covers or offers protection. Shelter is a position or state of being covered and protected. To remain inside in one’s current location until a danger is passed. A storm is a violent weather condition with winds. Storms can represent violent or disturbance circumstance; as if in state of a great danger. We could see storm as commotion, a violent assault on a stronghold.
Psalm 27: 5, “in times of trouble, He will shelter me, He will keep me safe in His Temple and make me secure on a high rock. Psalm 32: 7, David testified, “You are my hiding place; you will save me from trouble, you do surround me with songs of deliverance.” As we claim the promises in God’s word, we can also declare; “you are my defender and protection, I put my hope in you.” (Psa. 91: 4). God is our refuge and shelter; in Him we enjoy maximum security.” He is our refuge in time of trouble. Psalm 91: 1, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
Anytime you are experiencing a storm in your marriage, health, business, career, place of work…, you need to hide in the secret place of the Most High. Because the highest privilege we have as Christians is to commune with God. Furthermore, walking with God is the source of our strength. The shadow of the Almighty is over the saints who dwell in secret place of the Most High.
Whatever you need to enjoy life has been provided for in God, you can trust in Him today; and you will not be disappointed because He is the only shelter that you have in time of trouble.
