We need to have the presence of the Lord in our lives. It is a wonderful experience and essential in our everyday life. Moses had several problems with the children of Israel to the extent that they wanted to stone him to death; what kept him going was the promise God made to him that, “My presence shall go with you and I will give you rest”. No matter how confused or confusing a situation may be, the presence of God will bring order into that situation. As children of God, we should carry His fire about anywhere we go.
Adam and Eve hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. The Lord used to go into the garden in the evenings, to have fellowship with Adam and Eve; but when they sinned against Him, they could no longer behold His face. They hid themselves from His presence. Sin broke the relationship between God and man.
God sent Jonah to the city of Nineveh to preach the gospel of repentance, because the wickedness of the people had come up before God. He headed for Tarshish in order to flee from the Lord; little did he know that our God is omnipresent. He is everywhere at all times. The Lord sent a great wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up. In summary, Jonah was swallowed up by a great fish. He was inside the belly of the fish for three days and three nights.
Running away from the assignment God had given you will land you in a more serious problem. Stay in obedience for He that Calleth you is faithful, no matter the trouble, He will always be there for you.
PRAYER POINTS:
(1) Help me Lord not to grow weary in my work with you.
(2) Help me Lord not to run away from my place of assignment.
(3) Lord, I pray for grace to drop any habit or character in me that will hinder me from seeing you.
CONFESSION:
The presence of God guaranteed rest from the troubles of life; that is where I want to be.
