As studied yesterday, the Jewish men came testing Jesus with an alleged culprit who supposedly had committed adultery. Jesus knew their mind that He was the one they are coming to set up. If He said stone her to death, they might have judged Him for ordering killing an innocent person. Should He said: “leave her to go” they would have judged Him of breaking the Law of Moses. But he asked for anyone among them who never committed the same sin to be first to cast the stone (John 8: 6 – 7). All of them left silently one after the other. The woman gained freedom. Jesus told her: “Neither do I condemn you”. Glory! Most often, those alleging you of a particular evil have committed worst of that you are been alleged of. Jesus will speak in your favour once you accepted Him your LORD and Saviour
Christians have over the years suffered false allegations from unbelievers. Millions were killed falsefully. But millions were also defended and let go by Divine Providence. Church history had it that Emperor Nero ordered his followers to set their city ablaze and accuse the Christians of been responsible. This was planned and executed. At the end, it was blamed on the Christians. They were all were arrested and murdered. Other religious people are in the business of accusing Christians maliciously and sending them to jails or setting them on fire. Those Christians witnessing this filled their hearts with sorrow and discouragement. Question here is why should we behave this ways?
Accusations of mortal people should not rob us of our faith. God and Jesus are in heaven saying: “Neither Do We Condemn You.” The Bible has said it that “If God be for us who can be against us” (Rom. 8: 31, 33 – 34). It is unchristian habit to become dispirited when been lied upon. Leave the defense for God. Most times we are accused wrongly, we must know that they are putting God and Jesus into test to seeing if they will punish us arbitrarily. You may be beaten and put into prison. Only be happy that you are suffering justly for Jesus Christ. Wait till He will show up for you. Joseph passed through accusations and punished by going to prison. He came out becoming a Second In-Command in Egypt. The beloved of the LORD, there is a voice saying in your favour “Neither Do I Condemn You”. The legal luminaries in heaven have also declared you discharged and acquitted of all your allegations and accusations in the name of Jesus.
PRAYER:
ALL you legal bodies in heavenly places, arise and defend the accused innocent people in this world. Raise legal institutions in heaven to defend Christians under death sentences awaiting executions in the name of Jesus Christ.
